Background
Jet Set Radio was first released in Japan in 2000 for the Sega Dreamcast. It was later released in Europe and America under the name Jet Grind Radio, and after there were major changes made to the game after being released in the West, De La Jet Set Radio was released in Japan on 2001 with the appropriate changes made.
My history
I've been playing Jet Set Radio since December 2020 and only really got into and finished the game recently. In fact, I've finished the game three times but I'm trying to complete it 100% by unlocking the secret characters, collecting all Graffiti Souls and getting a Jet ranking on every level. And it's actually EXTREMELY hard since I'm shit at the game lol, but I'm getting there.
My favourites
Favourite version:
Jet Grind Radio (US)
I like the classic Jet Set Radio because while I prefer the Japanese names of the characters (Corn over Tab, Sugar over Piranha), I like the songs that were in the American version over the European version like Dragula, Slow and Just Got Wicked.
Favourite map
Grind City
I really like the America levels because they're really simple but easy for completing Jet Graffitis and Jet Techniques because the area is small but easy for collecting points. Plus the music is bangin'.
Favourite character
Yo-Yo
Even though he doesn't have the highest health, his technique and graffiti is really high, and even though he isn't the best for story levels because of his health, he works amazing for Jet Crushes, Techniques and Graffitis.
Cube
Three words: Beat but better. She has the same type of average stats that Beat has but slightly higher and is also a lot faster. Also she's badass, straight up.
Favourite song
Improvise: Jurassic-5
Every time I hear this song in the game, I lose it. This song in this game single-handedly made me a Jurassic-5 fan. Absolutely love all their music.
Dunny Boy Williamson Show: Deavid Soul
This song started playing in the Love Trap Shibuya-Cho level in place of O.K. House by Idol Taxi when I was playing the original Japanese version of the game, and while it surprised me that there was a different song, it caught my eye (ear?) immediately.
